30 Minute Flatbread
Yes, you can make fresh flatbread in 30 minutes!
My husband found this recipe on King Arthur flour website! They always end up having his favorite recipes!
Here's the recipe:
Ingredients:
3 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1-½ teaspoons salt
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup ice water
Vegetable oil for frying
Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in mixing bowl the add the oil and ice water.
Mix until cohesive. It should be moist but not sticky. Adjust flour as needed.
Cover and let rest for 10 minutes.
Divide dough into 12 portions. Coat with flour and roll with a rolling pin until ⅛” thick or less. (Thin for crispy texture, thicker for softer, heavier rounds)
Heat cast iron pan on stove top. Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to a hot pan and heat until oil shimmers but not smoking.
Fry 2-3 min until golden brown. Flip and cook for 2-3 min more. Transfer to rack placed in oven to cool slightly and hold warm until serving.
