Ground Turkey Macaroni & Cheese!
Adding in some ground turkey to this creamy cheesy tomato base adds some nice protein and flavor. I always have a jar or sundried tomato pesto on hang. It makes it a perfect main course for a family dinner or a potluck!

Recipe:
In the sauté pan:
1 tablespoon olive oil
½ yellow onion, diced (sauté, until soft)
Add in:
1 teaspoon chopped garlic
2 tablespoons salted butter
1 pound ground turkey cooked
⅛ teaspoon of red pepper flakes
¼ teaspoon Kosher salt
⅛ teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
6 oz prepared sundried tomato pesto
3 tablespoons tomato paste (opt.)
1 cup shredded Parmesan or Romano cheese
1 cup pasta water
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
Mix with:
2-3 cups (1 pound) shredded mozzarella (save ½ cup to top it)
1 pound macaroni pasta cooked al dente
Top with extra cheese and enjoy!
