Beer Braised Pork Loin (with Lemon)
Guinness, beer braised, pork roast!
We cook a turkey every year with the same ingredients and wanted to see how it worked with a pork roast, and we were not disappointed! This is an inexpensive cut of meat and we served it with the same stuffing we would serve for Thanksgiving and the sweet and savory fresh green beans. It was so good.
Try these same ingredients on your turkey this year, and you will not be disappointed.

Ingredients
4-5 lb boneless pork loin (with the fat cap)
3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
3 tablespoons butter
12 ounces beer
1 sliced lemon
3 cloves minced garlic
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon dried basil
2 tablespoons honey
2 bay leaves
Instructions
Score the roast’s fat cap seasoned well with kosher salt and pepper all around the roast.
In a large roasting pan or Dutch Oven heat oil over medium high heat, brown roast for 2-3 minutes on each side.
Mix beer, lemons, herbs and spices and honey in a medium bowl.
Pour mixture over top of roast.
Roast at 300°F oven until internal temperature reaches 145°F
Return the roasting pan to the stove top and transfer the roast to a cutting board and tent loosely with foil.
Remove the onions, lemons & bay leaf from the drippings.
Add a slurry of cornstarch, water and heat to thicken the drippings into gravy.
We ended up adding about a half cup or more of cream to the gravy to mellow it out a bit.
