Loaded Cheeseburger Casserole
This was fun to create. You can pre-cook all of the ingredients and just put them together in layers with cheese. Just make sure you pre-cook the bottom layer of crescent dough, so it doesn't get mushy!
I would serve it with some burger condiments on the side: ketchup, mayo, mustard, maybe some pickles!Â
Great for a party or a potluck!Â
Here's the recipe:
Layer in a casserole pan:
1 lb cooked ground beef
2 cans of crescent rolls (one rolled out on the bottom, and then the other rolled out on the top)
2-3 cups shredded American cheese
1 cup diced yellow onions, sautéed
10 oz. cherry tomatoes, sliced and sautéed
8 oz. mushrooms, finely chopped, sautéed
¼ - ½ cup cooked diced bacon
Top with second tube of crescent rolls
Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Salt and pepper to taste.
Bake at 350° for 30 minutes
Serve with burger condiments
Note: make sure you spray the bottom of your casserole dish with nonstick spray, and then pre-cook the bottom layer of crescent dough before building the rest of your casserole. This prevents the bottom layer from being mushy!
