Rustic Lasagna
I love lasagna. It is pretty hard to mess up but this one turned out to be so delicious that I had to share it. The secret ingredient (shhh!) adds just a little umami. It can be left out and it will still be delicious.
Recipe:
Meat filling:
2-3 lbs ground beef
1 tablespoon finely minced garlic
½ teaspoon kosher salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon dried basil
½ teaspoon dried parsley
½ teaspoon dried oregano
2 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon soy sauce (shhh! secret ingredient)
1 can (28oz) whole San Marzano Tomatoes
Layers:
1 jar of good marinara for the bottom and top of lasagna
1 16oz tub of while milk ricotta
1 lb mozzarella, shredded
1 ball of fresh mozzarella, sliced
1 cup grated parmesan
2 cups of fresh basil leaves
1 package of lasagna noodles, cooked
Layer as desired (see instgram video) and bake covered in a 375° oven for about an hour. Bake uncovered for the last 15 minutes.
